Pattern for Growth

If you have followed my posts for any amount of time you know I’m a visual learner and I like patterns. There is a pattern for growth that I’m working through that has felt durable and I’d love your thoughts and reactions.

The patterns looks like this:

Discover

Here you uncover the area for growth. This requires deep introspection and focus.

Plan

After you’ve discovered your area for growth it is time to create a plan for how you can improve.

Act

Now is the time to act. A plan without action will not lead to growth. Act and you’ll start to learn.

Reflect

Take a moment to consider how your plan turned out. Did you make progress? How did you feel? What adjustments do you need to make to continue to improve and grow? Reflection is the fuel for discovery which starts the cycle all over again.

When you are considering building new habits in your life, ensure they will support this pattern for growth. Your habits will compound over time and the growth you see will surprise even you.
