If you have read any of my posts over the last few months then you’ll know I’ve been focusing my efforts and energy on four things: marriage, memories (with my family), health and home. This has proven to be a valuable activity and has been the catalyst for deeper reflection. This reflection has led to some changes I am making with my writing practice.

Everyone on earth has a need for validation. And by validation, I mean a need to “check” the accuracy or validity of who you believe you are as a human being on this earth. As I have gotten older and been exposed to more adult challenges, I have learned we all have a need to be validated.

Junior high was a dark time for me in my life. I was young, didn’t feel confident in who I was, and was desperate to fit in and feel like I had friends. I felt depressed. Who I thought I should be was wildly different than what was being taught in my home. I was confused and frustrated.

As I have studied leadership, I have become increasingly convinced of the importance of living values that you hold close.
Those that have integrity in living their values immediately gain my respect. When an individual lives values that I strive to live by myself, this individual now has the potential to influence me.

All things organic, given enough time, will break down and disintegrate. I’m not familiar with a formal law stating this (I suppose the second law of thermodynamics comes close) but I consider this the law of disintegration.
